On Saturday, December 18th, from 5-10pm, there will be a Holiday Party at the Sunset Hill Community Club in Balllard. The address is:
3303 NW 66th St. I'll be there to celebrate, as well as to sell and sign my book THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES. The 'boy' Rupert himself will be present (my nephew Sammy, who appears on the cover and served as inspiration for the saga's hero)

The gathering of Ballard Authors and Neighbors was on October 19th was truly a rewarding night. The Sunset Hill Community Club was packed, and it was delightful to meet fellow authors and people living in the area. There was an informative panel discussion concerning how to reach an audience (for writers and would-be writers) as well as a chance to mingle and purchase books. I hope this may prove to be an annual event!
I was delighted that a number of people sought me out to tell me how much they'd enjoyed reading THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES! And the following day, I was thrilled to see that many of those who had attended had checked out my website, and purchased my book on Amazon.com. By the way, Amazon features some wonderful reviews by readers of my novel, so do check them out! Please go to the above link to read my interview! It deals mostly with my work as a psychic/clairvoyant/spiritual counselor, but my novel THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES is also discussed! It's exciting to be in print! THERE WILL BE A GATHERING OF BALLARD NEIGHBORHOOD AUTHORS ON OCTOBER 19, 2010 which should be really exciting. It will feature about 25 local writers of all descriptions (me included!) with an opportunity for those living in the area to meet and mingle with authors in their area. Yesterday, August 22nd, marked my first book-signing event! It was at the Ballard Sunday Market in Seattle, where I'll be present every Sunday, from 10am-3pm.
It was a very special occasion because Sammy was able to join me for several hours, and we were able to sign books together! It meant so much to me to have him there. He created quite a sensation, and was showered with gifts from pizza to hats! By the end of the day, all the copies of THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES had been sold, making the day all the more fulfilling! Hope to continue meeting people at the Sunday Market who will enjoy getting the book! Beginning this coming Sunday, August 22nd, my book will be available every week at the Ballard Sunday Market in Seattle (10am-3pm). And this Sunday only, my nephew Sammy, who helped inspire the story, and whose picture appears on the cover, will be with me to sign copies as well!
Hope to see you there! My table is located in the field at the end of Ballard Ave. Just look for the Pizza makers...I'm right next to them! As of today, August 12th, you can see Chapter One of THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES read aloud by the children who inspired the story! Just go to youtube.com and type in: the boy with golden eyes. You can also see it via this website. Go to 'Rupert Reads' on the home page to find the links.
We had a wonderful time doing it yesterday. The location looks like a dark, mysterious forest (very suitable for the book's setting), but the reading actually was filmed in their backyard! Hope you'll check it out and spread the word! I had a fabulous time last Saturday at the Seattle Space Needle! Some family members took me there for a celebration for the publication of THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES. Included were some very special people...my nephew Michael, his wife Anne, their two children Sammy and Lucie, along with Anne's parents Bob & Carole.
It was truly a festive occasion, complete with champagne (though apple cider did for me) and constant fly-bys by the Blue Angels, who seemed to be buzzing the Space Needle! Anne claims she arranged for that, however, it was rather a lovely coincidence, due to the annual Seafair Festival. We toasted to the book's future success and good wishes were exchanged by all. Sammy was especially thrilled, since THE BOY WITH GOLDEN EYES was written for him, as well as inspired by him! That's him on the cover too, posing as the hero, Rupert. All in all, it was a lovely occasion, and only wish all my friends and family could have been there as well! As of today, August 5, 2010, my book is available via amazon.com,barnes&noble as well as though my website! I hope you'll enjoy Rupert's adventures, and spread the word!
